Project Description

The Pomegranate Project is a women-led initiative designed and implemented by, for, and with women. We provide a holistic protection and empowerment model for women who fled to Europe while prioritizing women who are at risk of and survivors of gender-based violence. We offer a women-only safe space, secure housing, mental health and psychosocial support, case management, as well as income-generating opportunities in order to develop and strengthen the skills, resources, and resilience of women who fled to Europe. Our mostly Greek team helps to build networks of support and solidarity between displaced women and the Greek community. This holistic model helps women regain their power – both individually and collectively.

This project is supported by the Civilian Sea Rescue Foundation Fund.
