In 2023, more people were violently pushed back at Europe’s borders than in any previous year. Tommy Olsen runs the platform “Aegean Boat Report”.

The Norwegian can be reached around the clock, seven days a week via his hotline: Refugees who arrive in Greece and need support, as well as people in distress at sea, turn to him. Tommy informs emergency services and documents every arrival, every emergency and every pushback – he publishes data and informs journalists. Aegean Boat Report not only saves lives, but also makes human rights violations visible where they have been swept under the carpet by the EU and its member states for years.

Tommy finances his project solely through donations.
